Banyumala Waterfall Twin Waterfall is one of the lesser known waterfalls in Bali. It is located north of Lake Buyan in northcentral Bali. Unlike many trails this is a completely natural trail and rarely hiked trail. Just past the waterfall is a water curtain of various trickles of water down a wall of lush rocks. It is on the crater rim road between Munduk and the main highway from Singaraja to Denpasar. This is not an easy waterfall to find. There is a faded sign leading down a small rural road away from Lake Buyan.
Beautiful parallel falls with an awesome swimming hole at the bottom. Banyumala Twin Falls are becoming quite the hit in the North. A slightly difficult trek down, through bamboo trails, it’s certainly worth the effort when you reach the foot of the falls. Two epic waterfalls separated only by the rocks holding them together, and a huge swimming hole at the bottom.
There’s plenty of space for all visitors to enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters, and it’s ideal for jumping in and freshening off after the trek down. Of all the waterfalls in the North, Banyumala Twin Waterfall are definitely worth the journey up to and this hidden paradise will surely be one to remember. From the car park it’s around a 15-20 minute walk to the waterfall. Like most waterfalls in Bali that we visited, the walk is downhill and can be a little steep at times. As you get towards the waterfall there is less of a path and it gets a bit rocky, although it’s nothing too hard to cope with if you’re used to hiking!
Whenever you visit Banyumala twin waterfall you will be rewarded with one of Bali’s most beautiful waterfalls. It is possible to visit the falls year round, so whenever you’re in Bali you can visit if you wish. One of the things to consider is that between December and February Bali sees an increase in rainfall. This means the road down to the waterfall will be harder to drive on and the path to the waterfall will be more slippery.
Although we imagine the waterfall is more impressive during these months due to greater amounts of water, it’s worth considering either parking at the top of the road and walking the whole way down or visiting at another time.
This island is all about exploring its great nature. Almost all the amazing places to see in Nusa Penida are either on the coastline or underwater with beautiful coral.
